Crazy Texas weather

Today was a normal Tuesday. We did Pilates and massage this morning, then came home. That got us home a bit before 3pm. Well, it was sunny, bright, needed sun glasses and sunscreen. In an hour and a half it is now thunder, lightning, and rain clouds. It turned dark outside, an I can see rain in the not to distant horizon. We've gone from a temperature of 95, dropping to 79. We'll see if we get rain, but conditions definitely changed quickly. Even if we don't get rain here, its definitely around us. Welcome to Texas weather.

Vegas at night. Taken fron the walk way between MGM Grand and New York, New York hotels. Today is Tuesday Nov. 14. We started our journey in Seattle. We left Tuesday, Nov. 7 from Seattle. Our first stop was Ontario, OR. From there we drove to Provo, UT. We left Provo for Las Vegas. We stopped for a couple of days in Las Vegas to meet with a friend. It was also nice to take the break since we've been driving full 8 hour days. It was nice to have a few days of decent food and the chance too walk around. Its interesting driving from Seattle to San Antonio, TX. The landscape changes so much and so does the air. In Las Vegas the humidity was in the single digits - very dry. Nothing like what Seattle was when we left. Also as we've driven south the temperature has also changed considerable. Actually we left Seattle when we did because of the weather. Well its been nice weather

Its been so nice the fruit trees are trying to bud. Not the best time for that. But the weather has been mild, even though some nights have gotten down to 35 or so. Planting reminders (old farmers almanac emails): Under cover or indoors - start seeds now: broccoli, summer cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, kale, leeks, leaf lettuce, onion, peas, peppers, spinach, large tomatoes. We started most of these outside in the garden since the weather has been mild (no eggplant or leeks). If we actually get cold I'll cover them. But I'm not expecting that. We did have some problems with our watering system. We had a pipe leak and had to get it fixed. We actually lost quite a bit of water (almost drained the tanks) from that. Luckily after we got it fixed we got rain so the tanks are full again. That was not a good experience. But we are back up and running again, sort of. The pumps used to be able to be started by an app on the cell phone. Well that is not running so we have to go
